AI Lung Cancer Screening, Built in Hong Kong for Asia

Caretia develops an AI-powered platform to detect lung cancer earlier via CT scans—starting in Hong Kong, with a mission to scale affordable screening across Asia and reduce healthcare burdens continent-wide.

Lung Cancer: Asia's Growing Crisis

Lung cancer tops cancer deaths in Hong Kong and is a leading killer across Asia, with early stages showing no symptoms—leading to late diagnoses amid rising cases in high-density urban populations. Low-dose CT (LDCT) enables early detection worldwide, but cost, access, and workflow issues limit screening from Hong Kong to Southeast Asia.

  • Over 1 in 4 cancer deaths from lung cancer in Hong Kong; similar trends burden Asia

  • Early detection boosts survival rates dramatically, yet screening reaches few

Caretia AI

Our AI analyzes lung CT scans to flag early lesions accurately and efficiently, trained on Hong Kong-specific data with plans to adapt for diverse Asian populations. It speeds up radiologist workflows, cuts costs, and expands screening to serve clinics and communities across Asia.
It works with 2 simple steps :

  1. Upload LDCT scan

  2. AI triages nodules instantly

Impact

Our goal is to help people in Asia at large by scaling AI-driven lung cancer screening: partnering with charities in Hong Kong to subsidize screenings for underprivileged groups, gathering data to refine our AI, and expanding to address Asia's lung cancer epidemic through accessible, cost-effective tools. This supports government goals for AI in cancer care, uniting tech, medicine, and policy from Hong Kong outward.
